Easy Sumac Marinated Onions (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
02 - 2 teaspoons sumac
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or lemon juice
05 - 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a medium bowl and combine your thinly sliced onions with the sumac and salt. Here's where you get hands-on - gently massage the seasonings into the onions for about 30-60 seconds until they're well coated.
02 - Pour in your vinegar and olive oil, then add the fresh parsley. Give everything a good mix, cover your bowl, and let those flavors mingle for at least 20 minutes before serving.
03 - Your sumac onions are ready to enjoy! Use them to add a punch of flavor to burgers, sandwiches, wraps, or salads. If you're not using them right away, they'll keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.

# Notes:

01 - The onions will get softer over time - just drain off any excess liquid before serving if needed.
02 - Feel free to swap parsley for mint or cilantro for a different twist.
03 - If using white or yellow onions instead of red, consider adding a pinch of sugar as they're less sweet naturally.
