Honey Cake Slices – Slovakian Petit Fours (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 400g (15.8oz) plain flour.
02 - 150g (5.3oz) caster sugar.
03 - 80g (2.8oz) unsalted butter.
04 - 4 tablespoons milk.
05 - 2 tablespoons honey.
06 - 1 medium egg.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
08 - 1 jar thick jam of choice.
09 - 500ml (17fl oz) vanilla pudding.
10 - 180g (6.4oz) icing sugar.
11 - 250g (8.8oz) unsalted butter.
12 - 100g (3.5oz) chocolate.
13 - 180ml (6.4fl oz) whipping cream.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat sugar, butter, milk, honey and egg until melted. Add baking soda until foamy. Mix in flour to form dough.
02 - Divide dough in half, roll very thin. Bake at 180C/356F for 10 minutes per sheet. Cool completely.
03 - Beat icing sugar with butter. Gradually add room temperature pudding until thick.
04 - Layer cake with pudding filling and jam. Cut crosswise and stack. Refrigerate overnight weighted down.
05 - Make chocolate glaze with cream. Cover cake and chill until set. Trim edges and slice.

01 - Requires overnight chilling.
02 - Trim edges before slicing.
03 - Can use any thick jam.
