Spooky Poison Apple Fudge (Print version)

Layered green and black fudge with candy-apple flavor, perfect for Halloween parties and treat bags.

# Ingredients:

For the green layer

01 - 1 1/2 cups (255 g) white chocolate chips
02 - 1/2 can (7 oz / 198 g) sweetened condensed milk
03 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
04 - 1/2 teaspoon green apple extract
05 - Neon green gel food coloring, as needed
06 - Pinch of fine sea salt

For the black layer

07 - 1 1/2 cups (255 g) white chocolate chips
08 - 1/2 can (7 oz / 198 g) sweetened condensed milk
09 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
10 - 1/2 teaspoon green apple extract
11 - Black gel food coloring, as needed
12 - Pinch of fine sea salt

# Instructions:

01 - Line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy lifting.
02 - Combine half the white chocolate chips, half the condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth and thick. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon green apple extract, a pinch of salt, and enough neon green gel coloring to reach a bright green. Pour into the prepared pan and spread to the edges.
03 - Repeat the melting process with the remaining chocolate, condensed milk, and butter. Stir in the remaining 1/2 teaspoon extract, a pinch of salt, and black gel coloring until deep black. Pour over the green layer and smooth the top.
04 - Refrigerate for at least 3 hours until completely firm. Overnight is even better if you have the time.
05 - Lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang. Cut into 1-inch squares with a sharp knife, wiping the blade clean between cuts.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served at room temperature for the smoothest texture.
02 - Add sprinkles or candy eyeballs to the top layer while it is still soft.
