Oreo Mud Pie (Print version)

A no-bake frozen Oreo Mud Pie with cookie crust, creamy ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream.

# Ingredients:

For the Oreo crust

01 - 26 Oreo cookies, finely crushed, plus 4 more for topping
02 - 5 tablespoons (70 g) unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1/8 teaspoon fine salt

For the filling

04 - 1 1/2 quarts (1.4 L) coffee ice cream, softened until spreadable
05 - 3/4 cup (225 g) hot fudge sauce, warmed slightly and cooled until pourable

For the topping

06 - 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, cold
07 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
08 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Finely crush 26 Oreo cookies. Mix the crumbs with melted butter and salt until evenly moistened, then press firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
02 - Freeze the crust for 15-20 minutes while the ice cream softens. It should feel firm before you add the filling.
03 - Spoon the softened coffee ice cream into the crust and spread it gently into an even layer without dragging crumbs through the filling.
04 - Spoon the slightly warm fudge over the ice cream and smooth it lightly. The fudge should be pourable but not hot.
05 - Cover the pie and freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight, until firm all the way through.
06 - Beat the cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft to medium peaks form. Spread over the frozen pie and sprinkle with the remaining crushed Oreos.
07 - Let the pie stand at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. Slice with a warm, dry knife, wiping the blade between cuts.
