01 -
Grease a 24-cup mini muffin pan with butter or cooking spray. Grease a small spoon, shot glass, or your fingertips for shaping.
02 -
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth, then remove from the heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla.
03 -
Add the crisp rice cereal and fold gently until evenly coated. Work quickly so the mixture stays warm and moldable.
04 -
Spoon the mixture into the prepared muffin cups. Press the center of each portion down to form a small hollow, leaving raised sides like a nest.
05 -
Let the nests set at room temperature for about 20 minutes. Loosen the edges gently and lift them from the pan.
06 -
Beat the softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and green food coloring. Beat until fluffy, adding a little more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
07 -
Pipe or spoon frosting into each cooled nest. Top each one with 2-3 candy eggs and serve.
