Easter Egg Krispies Nests with Frosting (Print version)

No-bake Easter Egg Krispies Nests with Frosting made with marshmallow cereal cups, green buttercream, and candy eggs.

# Ingredients:

For the Krispies nests

01 - 3 tablespoons (42 g) unsalted butter, plus more for greasing
02 - 10 oz (285 g) mini marshmallows
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
04 - 6 cups (160 g) crisp rice cereal

For the frosting and topping

05 - 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
06 - 2 cups (240 g) powdered sugar, plus more as needed
07 - 1-2 tablespoons milk
08 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
09 - Green gel food coloring
10 - 48-72 small candy eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Grease a 24-cup mini muffin pan with butter or cooking spray. Grease a small spoon, shot glass, or your fingertips for shaping.
02 - Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth, then remove from the heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla.
03 - Add the crisp rice cereal and fold gently until evenly coated. Work quickly so the mixture stays warm and moldable.
04 - Spoon the mixture into the prepared muffin cups. Press the center of each portion down to form a small hollow, leaving raised sides like a nest.
05 - Let the nests set at room temperature for about 20 minutes. Loosen the edges gently and lift them from the pan.
06 - Beat the softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and green food coloring. Beat until fluffy, adding a little more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
07 - Pipe or spoon frosting into each cooled nest. Top each one with 2-3 candy eggs and serve.

# Good to know:

01 - Makes about 24 mini nests.
02 - Allow about 20 minutes of setting time before frosting.
03 - Best served the day they are decorated.
