01 -
In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
02 -
In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt. Add softened butter, egg, and the yeast mixture. Mix until it forms a dough.
03 -
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
04 -
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
05 -
Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread diced ham and shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the dough.
06 -
Roll up the dough tightly from the long side and pinch the seam to seal. Cut into 12 slices.
07 -
Place the rolls cut-side down on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each roll. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes.
08 -
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the rolls with melted butter. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
