01 -
Prepare three microwave-safe bowls by spraying the inside with nonstick spray. Also, spray two 8 or 9-inch round cake pans and set aside.
02 -
In the first bowl, add 1 tablespoon butter, 2 packed cups of mini marshmallows, and a dash of salt. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals until the marshmallows just start to melt. Stir together until smooth.
03 -
Add 2 cups of Rice Krispie cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir well. Butter your hands and divide the mixture into two, shaping each into a circle about 3.5 inches across. Place each circle in the center of the cake pans.
04 -
In the second bowl, add 2 tablespoons butter, 3 packed cups of mini marshmallows, and a dash of salt. Microwave until melted, stir until smooth, and add orange food coloring. Stir in 3 cups of Rice Krispie cereal. Wrap the mixture around the white circle in the cake pans.
05 -
In the third bowl, add 2 & 1/2 tablespoons butter, 4 packed cups of mini marshmallows, and a dash of salt. Microwave and stir until smooth. Add yellow food coloring and 4 cups of Rice Krispie cereal. Wrap the yellow mixture around the orange section in the cake pans, pressing it evenly.
06 -
Let the treat layers cool at room temperature or in the fridge/freezer for about 10 minutes. Use a plastic knife to cut the Rice Krispie treats into 8 slices, like a pie.
07 -
Serve immediately or store tightly covered at room temperature for up to 24 hours.
