Using kitchen shears, carefully snip along the crab shells to make them easier to open. Rinse the crab legs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Melt unsalted butter in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly until fragrant without allowing the garlic to brown.

Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and Old Bay seasoning (if using) into the melted butter. Allow the mixture to gently simmer for 1 minute.

Place the prepared crab legs into the skillet, spooning the hot garlic butter over the shells to ensure even coating. Cover and cook for 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until the crab meat is heated through.

Transfer the heated crab legs to a serving platter. Drizzle with any remaining garlic butter, and optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately with additional melted butter if desired.
