Deep Fried Cheesecake Wontons (Print Version)

Crispy wontons with strawberry cheesecake filling.

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
02 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar
03 - 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
04 - 1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves
05 - Fresh strawberries, diced, to taste (optional)
06 - 20-24 wonton wrappers
07 - Water, as needed, for sealing the edges
08 - Vegetable oil, as needed, for frying

# Instructions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and strawberry jam until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries if using.
02 - Lay out the wonton wrappers and place a spoonful of filling in the center of each. Moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press tightly to seal.
03 - Heat vegetable oil to 175°C (350°F) in a deep fryer or large pot.
04 - Fry wontons in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with extra strawberry jam or whipped cream.

# Notes:

01 - For a healthier option, bake at 175°C (350°F) until golden brown. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze un-fried wontons for up to a month.
