Sweet And Sour Chicken (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces.
02 - Salt and pepper to taste.
03 - 1 cup cornstarch.
04 - 2 eggs, beaten.
05 - 1/4 cup canola oil.
06 - 1 cup sugar.
07 - 4 tablespoons ketchup.
08 - 1/4 cup white vinegar.
09 - 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar.
10 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
11 - 1 teaspoon garlic salt.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
02 - Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Dredge each piece in cornstarch and then dip into the beaten eggs.
03 - Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until browned on all sides. Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish.
04 - In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, ketchup, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic salt. Pour this sauce mixture over the chicken in the baking dish.
05 - Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 60 minutes, stirring the chicken every 15 minutes to ensure it is evenly coated with the sauce. Continue baking until the sauce has thickened and caramelized, and the chicken is tender.
