Savory Beef And Mushroom Stew (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 500g beef chuck, cut into chunks.
02 - 200g fresh mushrooms, sliced.
03 - 1 large onion, finely chopped.
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced.
05 - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour.
06 - 500ml beef broth.
07 - 2 tbsp tomato paste.
08 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
09 - Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary).
10 - Salt and pepper to taste.
11 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil.

Instructions:

01 - In a large pot, heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef chunks and sear them until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
02 - In the same pot, add the finely chopped onions and minced garlic. Cook until the onions are translucent. Stir in 2 tbsp of flour and cook for an additional minute.
03 - Return the browned beef to the pot. Add the sliced mushrooms, 500ml beef broth, 2 tbsp tomato paste, and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
04 - Add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the pot. Cover and let the stew simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
05 - Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the stew cook uncovered for the last 30 minutes to thicken the sauce if desired.
