Salisbury Steak Skillet (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 Tbsp. Olive oil.
02 - 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, divided.
03 - 1 lb. Ground beef.
04 - 1 tsp. Garlic powder, divided.
05 - 1 Onion, halved and sliced.
06 - ¼ tsp. Thyme.
07 - 4-6 Yukon gold potatoes.
08 - 3 Tbsp. Cornstarch.
09 - 3 C. Beef broth, divided.
10 - Salt and pepper, to taste.
11 - 2 Tbsp. Ketchup.

Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, add the ground beef, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, ½ tsp garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix together, and form into 4 patties.
02 - Place the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
03 - Cook the patties in the heated skillet until browned well on both sides, then set aside.
04 - Poke holes in the potatoes with a fork, and microwave each one for 5 minutes. Let cool, then chop into bite-sized cubes.
05 - Place the onions into the skillet, sauté until becoming tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
06 - Stir the potatoes into the skillet, and pour 2 cups of the broth over them.
07 - Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
08 - In a bowl, whisk together the remaining broth, cornstarch, ½ tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, thyme, ketchup, and salt and pepper to taste.
09 - Pour the mixture into the skillet and simmer until thickened.
10 - Place the patties back into the skillet, and simmer over low heat until cooked through.
