Kfc-Style Gravy (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 4 tbsp plain flour.
02 - 60g unsalted butter.
03 - 1 beef stock cube.
04 - 1 chicken stock cube.
05 - 2 1/4 cups boiling water.
06 - 1/2 tsp onion powder.
07 - 1/4 tsp black pepper.
08 - Salt, to taste (if needed).

Instructions:

01 - Dissolve stock cubes in boiling water.
02 - In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
03 - Incorporate the flour, onion powder, and pepper into the butter with a whisk or wooden spoon.
04 - Gradually mix in half of the liquid, stirring constantly to form a roux.
05 - Once thickened, add the remaining liquid and blend well.
06 - Stir for about 1.5 to 2 minutes or until the gravy reaches a desirable thickness.

Notes:

01 - This gravy recipe tastes like what you get in those tubs of KFC Potato and Gravy. The secret ingredient that makes this gravy better is using both chicken AND beef stock cubes.
