Halloween Treats (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 15.25oz box Devil's Food cake mix.
02 - 3/4 cups water.
03 - 1/2 cup vegetable oil.
04 - 3 eggs.
05 - 1 4-serving box chocolate fudge instant pudding.
06 - 2 16 oz tubs vanilla cake icing.
07 - Orange food coloring gel.
08 - Edible black glitter.
09 - Powdered sugar.
10 - Black licorice.
11 - Candy eyes.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F.
02 - In a large mixer bowl, combine the Devil's food cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and pudding mix. Beat on medium until well blended.
03 - For larger Whoopie Pies, scoop 18 evenly sized portions of the batter onto a Silpat-lined baking sheet, shaping them into rounds. For smaller Whoopie Pies, make 36 batter circles.
04 - Bake for 7-10 minutes, depending on the size of the pies. Let them cool completely before decorating.
05 - Mix the vanilla icing with orange food coloring gel until the desired shade is reached.
06 - Pipe the orange icing onto the flat side of one Whoopie Pie cake, then top with a second cake.
07 - Sprinkle edible black glitter over the tops.
08 - Optional: Decorate the Whoopie Pies with stencils using powdered sugar, or create Whoopie Pie spiders by adding black licorice legs and candy eyes.
