Cheese Stuffed Doritos (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 (8 oz) block cheddar cheese.
02 - 1 (9 oz) bag Doritos (any flavor).
03 - 2 large eggs.
04 - 1 cup all-purpose flour.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
07 - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional).
08 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
09 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
10 - Vegetable oil for frying.

Instructions:

01 - Slice the cheddar cheese into 1/2 inch thick squares. Then cut each square diagonally to form triangles.
02 - Place the Doritos in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they resemble coarse breadcrumbs. Alternatively, pulse them a few times in a food processor.
03 - Prepare three shallow bowls: In the first bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, pour the crushed Doritos.
04 - Dredge each cheese triangle in the flour mixture, dip it into the egg wash, and then coat it completely in the crushed Doritos. Press the crumbs gently to ensure they stick well.
05 - For a crispier crust, place the breaded cheese triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 30 minutes, or up to 3 hours.
06 - In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat vegetable oil (around 3-4 cups) over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
07 - Carefully place a few breaded cheese triangles into the hot oil at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
08 - Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried Doritos from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch.
