Fried Mushrooms (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound small button mushrooms, ends trimmed.
02 - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided.
03 - 1 cup beer.
04 - 2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt.
05 - 3/4 teaspoon black pepper.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
07 - 1/4 teaspoon onion powder.
08 - Oil for frying.
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped.

Instructions:

01 - Heat 3 inches of oil in a deep pot to 375°F.
02 - Toss the mushrooms in 1/2 cup of flour, shaking off any excess.
03 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 cup of flour, beer, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
04 - Dip each mushroom into the batter, letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
05 - Fry 4-5 mushrooms at a time in the hot oil until golden brown, about 7 minutes. Remove the mushrooms and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining mushrooms.
06 - Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
