Shepherd's Pie (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef or lamb.
02 - 1 onion, chopped.
03 - 2 carrots, diced.
04 - 1 cup peas.
05 - 2 tbsp tomato paste.
06 - 1 cup beef broth.
07 - 4 large potatoes, mashed.
08 - 1/4 cup butter.
09 - Salt and pepper to taste.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a skillet, brown the ground beef or lamb with onions and carrots over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
02 - Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, and peas into the meat mixture. Let it simmer for 10 minutes to thicken and enhance the flavors.
03 - Spread the meat mixture evenly into a baking dish. Then, top with the mashed potatoes, smoothing them over the meat layer.
04 - Bake the Shepherd's Pie in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
05 - Remove the pie from the oven and serve it hot.
