Hamburger Potato Soup (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef.
02 - 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced.
03 - 1 small onion, finely chopped.
04 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
05 - 4 cups chicken or beef broth.
06 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
07 - 1 1/2 cups milk.
08 - 1/2 cup sour cream.
09 - 2 tbsp flour.
10 - 1 tbsp butter.
11 - 1/2 tsp paprika.
12 - 1/2 tsp dried thyme.
13 - Salt and pepper to taste.

Instructions:

01 - In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once cooked, drain the fat and set the beef aside.
02 - In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant.
03 - Stir in the diced potatoes and browned beef. Pour in the broth, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and milk until smooth. Slowly add this mixture to the soup, stirring constantly, until the soup thickens.
05 - Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, paprika, and thyme. Continue stirring until the cheese has melted and all ingredients are well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
06 - Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot. Enjoy the warm, cheesy goodness!.
