Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken (Print Version)

Tender chicken with Jack cheese and creamy sauce, finished in the oven for rich flavor and golden topping.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 1 cup (100 g) shredded Jack cheese

→ Sauce and Seasonings

03 - 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
04 - 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup (240 ml) low-sodium chicken broth
06 - 0.5 cup (120 g) sour cream
07 - Salt, to taste
08 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Garnish

09 - Chopped green onions
10 - Paprika

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Rub olive oil over chicken breasts and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken breasts in the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, approximately 5 minutes per side.
03 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate browned bits.
04 - Reduce the heat to medium. Stir in sour cream until the mixture is smooth and homogenous. Let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
05 - Arrange chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon sauce over the chicken and top each breast with shredded Jack cheese. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbling.
06 - Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions and paprika. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - For maximum flavor and tenderness, do not skip the searing step to develop a rich, caramelized crust on the chicken.
