Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Teriyaki Sauce

01 - 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
02 - 1/4 cup water
03 - 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
04 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
05 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
06 - 2 teaspoons minced garlic
07 - 1 teaspoon ground ginger
08 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
09 - 2 tablespoons warm water

→ Teriyaki Turkey Lettuce Wraps

10 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
11 - 1 pound ground turkey
12 - 1 cup finely chopped broccoli
13 - 2 large carrots, peeled and grated
14 - 1/2 cup diced onion
15 - 2 tablespoons minced garlic
16 - 8 large lettuce leaves (Romaine, Iceberg or Butter Lettuce)

# Instructions:

01 - Mix soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, red wine vinegar, sugars, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir with a whisk until sugar is dissolved.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons warm water and cornstarch until cornstarch is completely dissolved.
03 - Heat sauce over medium high heat. Slowly whisk in cornstarch mixture and simmer until thickened.
04 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft.
05 - Crumble ground turkey and garlic into the pan and cook until turkey is no longer pink.
06 - Add grated carrots and chopped broccoli about halfway through, when the turkey is still somewhat pink.
07 - Pour teriyaki sauce over cooked turkey and vegetable mixture and stir. Simmer for about five minutes to combine the flavors.
08 - Spoon meat mixture into individual lettuce leaves. Serve immediately.
