Cowboy Casserole Tater Tots (Print Version)

Cheesy tater tots and bacon melted together for a warm, satisfying dish everyone will want seconds of.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat & Dairy

01 - 120 grams bacon, cooked and broken into pieces
02 - 60 millilitres sour cream
03 - 225 grams ground beef (85/15 fat content)
04 - 80 millilitres whole milk
05 - 120 grams sharp cheddar cheese, shredded and kept separate

→ Vegetables & Frozen

06 - 900 grams frozen tater tots
07 - 160 grams corn kernels

→ Condiments & Seasoning

08 - 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
09 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
10 - 160 grams mushroom soup, condensed

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven to 190°C first. Then, rub a little oil or butter on a 23x33 centimetre pan so food won’t stick.
02 - Heat a big skillet on medium, drop in the beef, and use a spatula to break it up. Keep cooking until it’s all brown.
03 - Toss in corn, half your cheddar, the mushroom soup, all the milk, black pepper, bacon, sour cream, and onion powder with the beef. Mix it really well, making it smooth.
04 - Pour your beef mixture into the pan and smooth it out. Scatter the rest of the cheese over the top. Lay out frozen tater tots in one even layer on top—make sure they cover the whole thing.
05 - Put the dish uncovered into your oven. Let it cook 40 to 45 minutes, or until the tots look crispy and golden.
06 - Take it out, sprinkle on the last bit of cheese over the hot tater tots, and give it another 5 minutes in the oven so the cheese melts nicely.

# Notes:

01 - Wait about five minutes before you dig in. This helps the insides set up and the flavors mix together.
