Summer Strawberry Caprese Salad (Print Version)

Sweet strawberries, mozzarella, and basil unite with honey vinaigrette for a bright, flavorful summer salad.

# Ingredients:

→ Produce

01 - 900 grams strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 1 pint (approximately 300 grams) blueberries
03 - Handful of fresh basil leaves, chiffonade

→ Dairy

04 - 225 grams mozzarella pearls, drained

→ Dressing

05 - 2 tablespoons honey
06 - 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
07 - 60 milliliters extra virgin olive oil
08 - 0.5 teaspoon salt
09 - 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Clean, hull, and slice the strawberries. Drain the mozzarella pearls and chiffonade the basil leaves.
02 - In a small bowl, combine honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and ground black pepper. Whisk until the dressing is fully emulsified.
03 - In a large salad bowl, gently combine the sliced strawberries, blueberries, mozzarella pearls, and basil.
04 - Pour the vinaigrette over the salad and toss carefully to ensure even coating. Allow the salad to stand for 15 minutes to enhance flavor before serving.

# Notes:

01 - For added texture, consider incorporating chopped nuts such as walnuts or sugared almonds, or sliced avocado for extra creaminess. Experiment with alternative berries or a variety of vinegar types for unique flavor profiles.
02 - To increase nutritional value and bulk, add leafy greens like arugula, spinach, or kale.
03 - Moisture from fresh fruit may dilute the dressing if left too long; assemble and dress just before serving for optimal flavor and texture.
