Easy Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 frozen sheet puff pastry, slightly thawed
02 - 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
03 - 3 tablespoons white granulated sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

→ Filling

05 - 2 cups strawberries, washed and sliced thin
06 - ½ tablespoon cornstarch
07 - ½ tablespoon white granulated sugar

→ Egg Wash

08 - 1 large egg
09 - 2 teaspoons water

→ Lemon Icing

10 - ½ cup powdered sugar, sifted
11 - Zest of half lemon
12 - 2-3 teaspoons lemon juice

# Instructions:

01 - Let puff pastry thaw on counter for 30 minutes.
02 - Beat cream cheese for 1 minute, add sugar and beat another minute. Mix in vanilla. Slice strawberries and mix with cornstarch and sugar.
03 - Roll out thawed pastry, cut into 6 rectangles. Score ¼-inch border on each. Place on greased baking sheet.
04 - Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese mixture in each pastry up to border. Top with strawberries.
05 - Brush edges with egg wash. Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
06 - Mix icing ingredients until smooth and pourable. Drizzle over warm pastries.

02 - Icing should be thick enough not to melt into pastry
