Let frozen cranberries defrost until soft and juicy, several hours or overnight.

Blend thawed cranberries, their juice, orange juice and zest until smooth. Measure 2/3 cup.

Whip butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add cranberry mixture to butter, whip until fully emulsified.

Mix in flour, baking powder and salt on low speed. Stir in dried cranberries.

Cover and refrigerate dough until stiff, at least 30 minutes.

Form into balls and roll in sugar.

Bake at 400°F for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
