Southern Style Cheeseburger Pie (Print Version)

Hearty Southern pie with ground beef, cheddar, and Bisquick crust—easy comfort food for any night.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 450 grams ground beef
02 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
03 - 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
05 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
06 - 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup

→ Topping and Batter

07 - 120 grams shredded cheddar cheese
08 - 120 milliliters whole milk
09 - 2 large eggs
10 - 65 grams Bisquick mix

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C.
02 - Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef with chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
03 - Stir salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup into the cooked beef mixture. Combine thoroughly.
04 - Transfer the seasoned beef mixture into a 23-centimeter pie plate, spreading it out evenly.
05 - Evenly distribute shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
06 - In a separate bowl, thoroughly whisk together milk, eggs, and Bisquick mix until a smooth batter forms.
07 - Gently pour the prepared batter over the beef and cheese layers in the pie plate.
08 - Place pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center emerges clean.
09 - Allow pie to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.

# Notes:

01 - For a lighter texture, allow the pie to stand for five minutes after baking before cutting to help set the filling.
