Smothered Boneless Pork Chops (Print Version)

Juicy pork chops smothered in a rich, savory sauce with onions and herbs - a simple yet impressive comfort food classic.

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 4 boneless pork chops (1-inch thick)
02 - Salt and pepper to taste
03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil

→ Sauce

04 - 1 medium onion, sliced
05 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
07 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
08 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
09 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
10 - 1 tablespoon butter

→ Garnish

11 - Fresh parsley, chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
04 - Pour in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze and incorporate the browned bits. Stir in the dried thyme and smoked paprika, then bring the mixture to a simmer.
05 - Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the onion-garlic broth over them. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
06 - Remove the pork chops from the skillet. Stir butter into the sauce until melted and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
07 - Place the pork chops on a serving platter, spoon the smothered sauce with onions over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with your preferred sides.

# Notes:

01 - This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
02 - For extra flavor, let the pork chops come to room temperature before cooking.
