Quick Korean Gochujang Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 pound skinless boneless chicken thighs or breast
02 - 1/2 onion, diced
03 - 1/3 cup cornstarch or potato starch
04 - 1/4 cup vegetable oil or neutral oil
05 - 1 green onion, finely chopped (for garnish)
06 - 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

→ Sauce

07 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
08 - 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
09 - 2 tablespoons Gochujang
10 - 2 tablespoons regular soy sauce
11 - 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
12 - 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
13 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch or potato starch
14 - 1 cup water

# Instructions:

01 - Cut chicken into 1.5-inch pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.
02 - Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
03 - Add cornstarch to the chicken and toss until evenly coated.
04 - Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and crispy, about 5-6 minutes per side.
05 - Fry onions until translucent, add sauce and simmer until thickened. Toss fried chicken in sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

# Notes:

01 - Can use chicken breast instead of thighs
02 - Can substitute honey or brown sugar for white sugar
