In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese and sour cream, mixing until smooth.

Spread half of the cooked egg noodles in the bottom of a baking dish (20x20 cm). Evenly distribute the cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with half of the beef mixture. Repeat layers with remaining noodles and beef, smoothing each layer.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top layer.

Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the cheese is golden brown.
