Poor Man's Husband Casserole (Print Version)

Layered casserole with noodles, beef, rich sauce, and bubbling cheese.

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
02 - 1 ½ pounds ground beef
03 - 30 ounces tomato sauce

→ Dairy

04 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
05 - 8 ounces sour cream
06 - 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, shredded

→ Seasonings

07 - 2 tsp garlic, minced
08 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
09 - 1 tsp sugar
10 - ¼ tsp salt
11 - ¼ tsp pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
03 - Cook the pasta according to package directions, then drain and rinse.
04 - In a skillet over medium-high heat, crumble and cook the ground beef until thoroughly cooked, then drain the grease.
05 - Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the beef, stirring to blend well.
06 - Stir in the sugar, then pour in the tomato sauce and stir again. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
07 - In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and softened cream cheese.
08 - Place half of the pasta in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top the pasta with half of the sour cream and cream cheese mixture. Spoon half of the meat mixture over the sour cream layer. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, sour cream, and meat mixture.
09 - Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.
