01 -
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly, shape into 4 even patties, and allow to rest.
02 -
Preheat grill or grill pan and broiler to medium-high. Arrange hamburger buns, cut side up, on a baking sheet and toast under the broiler until golden. Remove the upper halves and set aside.
03 -
Grill the prepared patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through to desired doneness.
04 -
In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm the pizza sauce, stirring occasionally. Spread half of the sauce over the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Top evenly with half the mozzarella cheese and arrange half the pepperoni slices over the cheese. Place under the broiler for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
05 -
Place grilled burger patties onto the prepared bottom buns. Spoon over remaining pizza sauce, scatter with remaining mozzarella cheese, and distribute the remaining pepperoni slices. Broil briefly until cheese is melted.
06 -
Cap with the top halves of the toasted buns. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
