Refreshing Pickle Slushy (Print version)

A cold, tangy pickle slushy made with dill pickle juice, crushed ice, lime, and a touch of sweetness.

# Ingredients:

For the slushy

01 - 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) chilled dill pickle juice
02 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) chilled lemon-lime soda
03 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
04 - 1-2 teaspoons granulated sugar, optional
05 - 3 cups (420 g) crushed ice or nugget ice

For serving

06 - 4 pickle chips or small dill pickle spears
07 - Fresh dill sprigs, optional
08 - Chili-lime seasoning or coarse salt for the rim, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Make sure the pickle juice and lemon-lime soda are cold before blending. Chill the serving glasses if you have time.
02 - Pour the pickle juice, soda, lime juice, and sugar into a blender. Add the crushed ice on top.
03 - Pulse a few times, then blend for 20-30 seconds until thick, icy, and pourable. Do not overblend or the texture will thin out.
04 - Taste quickly. Add a splash more soda for sweetness, more pickle juice for tang, or a handful of ice for a thicker texture.
05 - Pour into cold glasses. Garnish with pickle chips and fresh dill. Serve immediately.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately after blending.
02 - Use crushed ice or nugget ice for the smoothest texture.
03 - Pickle juice can be high in sodium, so keep servings small.
