Peanut Butter Balls Treat (Print Version)

Sweet peanut butter and chocolate treats with a crispy rice cereal crunch.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup creamy peanut butter
02 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
03 - 2 cups powdered sugar
04 - 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal

→ Coating

05 - 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
06 - 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter and softened butter until well combined.
02 - Gradually add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter mixture, beating until smooth.
03 - Stir in the crispy rice cereal until evenly distributed.
04 - Shape the peanut butter mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
05 - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
06 - Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
07 - Return the chocolate-coated peanut butter balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
08 - Once set, transfer the peanut butter balls to an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

# Notes:

01 - To achieve a smoother coating, ensure the chocolate is fully melted and stirred until glossy.
02 - Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
