Easy 5-Minute Fudge Recipe by Paula Deen (Print version)

A quick Paula Deen-style fudge made with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, condensed milk, vanilla, and pecans.

# Ingredients:

For the fudge

01 - Butter, for greasing the pan
02 - 1 cup (170 g) semisweet chocolate chips
03 - 1 cup (170 g) butterscotch chips
04 - 1 can (14 oz or 397 g) sweetened condensed milk
05 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
06 - 1 cup (110 g) chopped pecans

# Instructions:

01 - Butter a 9-inch square baking pan. For easier removal, line it with parchment and butter the parchment lightly.
02 - Set a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Add the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until melted, smooth, and glossy, about 4-5 minutes.
03 - Remove the bowl from the heat. Stir in the vanilla and chopped pecans until evenly mixed.
04 - Scrape the fudge into the prepared pan. Smooth the top quickly with a buttered spatula because the mixture thickens as it cools.
05 - Refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. Lift from the pan if using parchment, then cut into small squares.

# Good to know:

01 - The 5-minute timing refers to the cooking time, not the chilling time.
02 - Cut smaller squares for serving because this fudge is rich.
