Outback Steakhouse Walkabout Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 tablespoons butter, divided.
02 - 2 cups thinly sliced sweet yellow onions.
03 - 14.5 ounces chicken broth.
04 - 2 chicken bouillon cubes.
05 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided.
07 - 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
08 - 1 1/2 cups whole milk.
09 - 1/4 cup Velveeta cheese.
10 - Shredded cheddar cheese for garnish.
11 - Dark Russian bread for serving.

# Instructions:

01 - Cook onions in 3 tablespoons butter over medium-low until soft but not browned. Add broth, bouillon, pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
02 - In separate pan, melt remaining butter. Add flour and cook until thickened. Gradually stir in milk and remaining salt until smooth like pudding.
03 - Add milk mixture and Velveeta to onion mixture. Simmer until cheese melts and ingredients blend.
04 - Reduce to warm and cook 30-45 minutes more. Serve garnished with cheddar and Russian bread.
