Golden Onion Butter Jasmine Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 1/2 cups jasmine rice
02 - 2 cups water or broth (vegetable or chicken)

→ Aromatics & Fats

03 - 2 tablespoons butter
04 - 1 large onion, thinly sliced
05 - 1 tablespoon olive oil

→ Seasonings

06 - 1 teaspoon salt
07 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and pinch of salt. Sauté 12-15 minutes until soft and golden brown. Set aside.
02 - Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until water runs clear to remove excess starch.
03 - Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add rinsed rice and stir to coat with butter.
04 - Add water or broth, black pepper, and salt. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 15-18 minutes until tender and liquid is absorbed. Let sit covered 5 minutes off heat.
