Oklahoma Onion Burgers (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 medium onions, thinly sliced.
02 - 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil.
03 - 1 pound ground beef.
04 - 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
07 - 4 slices American cheese.
08 - 4 potato buns.

# Instructions:

01 - Slice onions very thin.
02 - Form beef into 4 equal balls.
03 - Heat griddle/skillet over medium-high.
04 - Smash beef balls, season, top with onions.
05 - Cook 2 minutes without disturbing.
06 - Flip, scraping up crispy bits.
07 - Steam buns on top of patties.
08 - Add cheese, serve when melted.

02 - Don't move patties while cooking.
