Easy Non-Alcoholic Harry Potter Butterbeer (Print version)

A fizzy, creamy butterscotch drink with a fluffy whipped topping, ready in about 10 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the butterbeer base

01 - 4 cups (960 ml) chilled cream soda
02 - 1/4 cup (80 g) butterscotch sauce, plus more for drizzling
03 - 1/2 teaspoon butter extract
04 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the whipped topping

05 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold heavy whipping cream
06 - 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
07 - 1 tablespoon butterscotch sauce
08 - Pinch of fine salt
09 - Ice, optional for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Place 4 glass mugs in the freezer for 10 minutes while you prepare the topping. This helps the drink stay cold and foamy.
02 - Beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon butterscotch sauce, and salt in a cold bowl until soft peaks form. Keep it chilled.
03 - In a small pitcher, stir 1/4 cup butterscotch sauce with the butter extract and vanilla extract until smooth.
04 - Slowly pour in the chilled cream soda and stir gently just until combined. Do not whisk or shake because it will flatten the soda.
05 - Divide the butterbeer among the chilled mugs, adding ice first if desired. Spoon the butterscotch whipped cream over each glass and drizzle lightly with extra sauce.
06 - Serve immediately while the drink is cold, bubbly, and the foam is still floating on top.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served immediately after adding the cream soda.
02 - Whipped topping can be made up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated.
03 - Use very cold cream soda for the strongest fizz.
