Zesty Mexican Chicken Marinade (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Marinade

01 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
02 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
03 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
04 - 2 teaspoons chili powder
05 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
06 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
07 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
08 - ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
09 - 1 teaspoon salt

→ Chicken

10 - 1-2 pounds chicken (breasts, cutlets, thighs, or drumsticks)

# Instructions:

01 - To a Ziploc bag, add the chicken followed by the wet ingredients and the spices.
02 - Seal the bag, and toss the chicken so that it is well coated in the marinade.
03 - Place in the fridge and allow to marinate for 2-24 hours.
04 - Remove the chicken from the bag, and grill it or bake it until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F/74°C with an instant read thermometer.

# Notes:

01 - This versatile marinade works well with all cuts of chicken including breasts, thighs, and drumsticks.
02 - For best flavor, allow the chicken to marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
03 - The cinnamon adds a subtle warmth but can be omitted if preferred.
