Combine milk, piloncillo, chocolate and cinnamon in saucepan. Heat until piloncillo and chocolate dissolve, stirring frequently.

Remove and discard cinnamon stick, straining if needed.

Whisk masa harina with warm water until smooth. Add to pot with vanilla and salt.

Simmer on low 15-20 minutes, whisking often, until thick and creamy. Should coat back of spoon.

Optional: blend with immersion blender for extra smoothness. Serve with ground cinnamon garnish.
