Mardi Gras Pasta Salad (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the pasta salad

01 - 1 pound spiral pasta
02 - ½ cup shredded purple cabbage
03 - 1 cup whole kernel corn
04 - 2 tablespoons butter
05 - ½ cup finely chopped green onions

→ For the dressing

06 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise (more or less to taste)
07 - 1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
08 - ½ teaspoon dried leaf basil
09 - Salt and pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Cook the spiral pasta in boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain thoroughly and place in a large mixing bowl.
02 - In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and sauté the corn for two minutes until lightly golden. Add the sautéed corn to the pasta in the mixing bowl.
03 - Add the shredded purple cabbage and finely chopped green onions to the pasta and corn mixture. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
04 - In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
05 - Add the dressing to the pasta mixture and toss gently to coat all ingredients evenly. Serve either immediately at room temperature or refrigerate and serve chilled later for your Mardi Gras celebration.

01 - This festive pasta salad features the traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple (cabbage), green (onions), and gold (corn).
