Easy Korean Egg Rice (Gyeran Bap) (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1½ cups cooked short grain rice (or jasmine rice)
02 - 1 egg
03 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
04 - ½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
05 - 1 tablespoon regular soy sauce, or to taste
06 - 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
07 - 1 tablespoon green onion, finely sliced
08 - ½ teaspoon vegetable oil or any neutral oil

→ Optional Add-ins

09 - Kimchi
10 - Canned tuna
11 - Roasted seaweed flakes
12 - Avocado
13 - Sautéed vegetables (carrots/spinach/zucchini)

# Instructions:

01 - Mix hot cooked rice with butter until well combined. Transfer to large serving bowl.
02 - Heat non-stick pan over medium heat with oil. Fry egg sunny side up, spooning hot oil over yolk to cook evenly.
03 - Place fried egg over buttered rice. Garnish with sesame seeds, sesame oil, green onions, and soy sauce to taste.
04 - Mix together and enjoy! Add optional toppings if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Can use leftover rice heated in microwave
02 - Egg can be cooked to preference (sunny side up, scrambled, etc)
