Jalapeno Popper Bites (Print version)

Crispy crescent dough cups filled with creamy cheese, bacon, and jalapeno. A 30-minute baked appetizer perfect for parties or game day.

# Ingredients:

For the filling

01 - 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
02 - 1 cup (110 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
03 - 1/2 cup cooked bacon crumbles (about 6 slices)
04 - 2-3 fresh jalapenos, seeded and finely diced
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
07 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the cups

09 - 1 tube (8 oz / 226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
10 - Nonstick cooking spray

For topping

11 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 375°F and spray a 24-cup mini muffin tin with nonstick spray so the baked cups release cleanly.
02 - Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then stir in the cheddar, bacon crumbles, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
03 - Unroll the crescent dough and cut it into 24 squares. Press one square into each muffin cup, letting the edges fold up the sides.
04 - Spoon about a tablespoon of filling into each cup. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough is deep golden and the cheese is bubbling.
05 - Let the bites rest in the tin for 5 minutes so the cheese sets before you lift them out. Top with chopped chives.

# Good to know:

01 - Best served warm while the cups are still crisp.
02 - Let them rest 5 minutes before removing from the tin so the cheese sets.
