Rich Italian Hot Chocolate (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2.1 oz (60g) good quality dark chocolate (72% cacao)
02 - 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons milk of choice (almond or soy milk recommended)
03 - 1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 3 teaspoons cornstarch
05 - Small pinch of salt
06 - Additional sugar to taste (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk 2 tablespoons milk with cornstarch until smooth with no clumps.
02 - Heat remaining milk in saucepan over low heat. Add broken chocolate pieces and whisk until melted.
03 - Add cocoa powder and salt. Whisk to combine. Add sugar if desired.
04 - Add cornstarch mixture, whisking continuously until mixture thickens.
05 - Pour into cups and serve hot.

# Notes:

01 - A rich, thick and velvety Italian-style hot chocolate that's much more decadent than regular hot chocolate. Can be made with dairy-free milk alternatives.
