Hong Kong Style French Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 6 pieces milk bread or square white bread
02 - 4 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
03 - 2 large eggs, beaten
04 - 1 cup vegetable oil

→ Toppings

05 - 2 tablespoons butter
06 - Sweetened condensed milk to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Spread peanut butter on four bread slices. Stack two buttered slices together and top with plain slice. Repeat for second sandwich.
02 - Cut off crusts to make squares.
03 - Lightly dip sandwiches in beaten eggs, being careful not to oversoak. Stand vertically while preparing to fry.
04 - Heat oil over low-medium heat (300°F). Fry each sandwich on all sides until golden brown - 30 seconds on edges, 1-2 minutes on larger sides.
05 - Serve hot with butter and condensed milk.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute peanut butter with Nutella or other spreads
02 - Can use honey or maple syrup instead of condensed milk
03 - Best served hot
