Ham and Cheese Sticks (Print Version)

Flaky pastry twists filled with ham and cheddar, baked golden for a perfect savory bite.

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry Base

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

→ Filling

02 - 6 slices deli ham
03 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Assembly

04 - 1 egg, beaten
05 - 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured work surface until even.
03 - Arrange the ham slices evenly across the surface of the pastry.
04 - Distribute the shredded cheddar cheese uniformly over the ham.
05 - Fold the pastry in half to sandwich the filling. Press lightly to seal, then cut into 2.5 cm wide strips.
06 - Twist each strip and transfer to the prepared baking tray.
07 - Brush each pastry twist with beaten egg and, if desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp.

# Notes:

01 - For even baking, ensure pastry strips are spaced apart on the tray.
02 - Puff pastry must remain cold for best lift and flakiness.
