Cheesy pepperoni crescent calzones shaped like witch hats and baked until golden for a savory Halloween snack.

# Ingredients:

For the calzones

01 - 2 packages (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
02 - 1/2 cup (70 g) pepperoni, finely chopped
03 - 8-10 extra pepperoni slices, cut into tiny triangles or diamonds
04 - 1/2 cup (55 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
05 - 1/4 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
06 - 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
07 - 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
08 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
09 - 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, plus more for sprinkling

For finishing

10 - 1 large egg, lightly beaten
11 - 1 tablespoon water
12 - 1 cup (240 ml) marinara sauce, warmed for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
02 - In a medium bowl, stir the softened cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, chopped pepperoni, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until evenly combined.
03 - Cut the extra pepperoni slices into small triangles, diamonds, or crescent shapes for the hat brims. Set them aside.
04 - Unroll one tube of crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Place half on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the edges with egg wash, then spoon 1 1/2 tablespoons filling onto each triangle.
05 - Top each filled triangle with another crescent triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal. Fold the bottom edge upward to make the brim, then bend the point slightly into a witch hat shape.
06 - Whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush the tops of the hats, add the pepperoni decorations to the brim, and sprinkle lightly with Italian seasoning.
07 - Bake for 8-10 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Let cool for 3 minutes, then serve with warm marinara sauce.
