Garlic Herb Butter Steak Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Herb Butter

01 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
02 - 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely diced
03 - 3 cloves garlic

→ Sandwich

04 - 1 pound steak, thinly sliced
05 - 1 tablespoon oil
06 - 1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
07 - 1 large yellow onion, cut into half rings
08 - 4 slices Havarti cheese
09 - 1 baguette

# Instructions:

01 - Mix the softened butter with crushed garlic and diced dill until well combined. Set aside.
02 - For easier slicing, freeze steak briefly, then slice into thin strips.
03 - Heat oil in skillet over high heat. Add beef strips, season generously with salt, and cook until just golden. Remove and set aside.
04 - In the same skillet, sauté onion half-rings until golden brown. Remove from heat.
05 - Split baguette lengthwise and spread herb butter on both sides. Layer with steak, caramelized onions, and Havarti cheese slices.
06 - Keep sandwich open-faced and broil for about 2 minutes until cheese gets bubbly and melts. Serve immediately while hot.

01 - Best served immediately while the cheese is melty and the bread is crisp
02 - Freezing the steak briefly makes it easier to slice thinly
