Garlic Butter Salmon with Herbs and Lemon (Print version)

Tender baked salmon brushed with garlic butter, fresh herbs, and lemon for a simple 25-minute main dish.

# Ingredients:

For the salmon

01 - 4 salmon fillets, about 6 oz (170 g) each
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
05 - 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
06 - 1 lemon, thinly sliced

For the garlic herb butter

07 - 4 tablespoons (56 g) unsalted butter, melted
08 - 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
10 - 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
11 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
13 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
14 - Extra lemon wedges, for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Pat the salmon fillets dry. Place them on the baking sheet, skin-side down if using skin-on salmon. Brush with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
03 - In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, dill, and thyme.
04 - Spoon the garlic herb butter evenly over the salmon. Arrange lemon slices around and partly over the fillets.
05 - Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the thickest part flakes easily and stays moist. Use 145°F as the official safe internal temperature for fish.
06 - Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes. Spoon the pan butter over the top and serve with extra lemon wedges.

# Good to know:

01 - Best with fresh herbs, but dried herbs can be used at one-third the amount.
02 - Cooking time depends on fillet thickness. Start checking at 9 minutes for thin pieces.
03 - Use center-cut fillets for the most even baking.
