Quick and Easy Garlic Bread Pizza (Print version)

French bread loaded with garlic butter, pizza sauce, and melted cheese, baked until bubbly in just 20 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the garlic butter base

01 - 1 (12-16 oz) loaf soft French bread, split lengthwise
02 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
05 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
06 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For the toppings

07 - 1/2 cup pizza sauce
08 - 2 cups (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
09 - 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
10 - 2 oz pepperoni slices (optional)
11 - 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
12 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Stir together the softened butter, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until well combined.
02 - Slice the loaf in half lengthwise and place both pieces cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Trim a thin slice from the rounded bottom if needed so the halves sit flat.
03 - Spread the garlic butter thickly over the cut sides of the bread. Bake at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes, until the edges just begin to turn golden.
04 - Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each toasted half. Scatter the mozzarella, parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning evenly on top.
05 - Return the pan to the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 400 degrees F. Broil for the last 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is spotty brown. Let rest for 2 minutes, then slice and serve.

# Good to know:

01 - Serve immediately while the crust is still crisp.
02 - For extra color, broil during the last 1 to 2 minutes of baking.
