Delicious Garbage Bread (Print version)

A golden stuffed bread rolled with beef, bacon, cheddar, and burger sauce for easy slicing and sharing.

# Ingredients:

For the filling

01 - 6 slices bacon, chopped
02 - 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, 85/15 or 90/10
05 - 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
06 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
07 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 2 green onions, thinly sliced
09 - 1 cup (115 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
10 - 1/2 cup (55 g) shredded mozzarella cheese

For the bread

11 - 1 lb (450 g) pizza dough or 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough, about 13.8 oz (391 g)
12 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, for rolling
13 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
14 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
15 - 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, optional

For the burger sauce

16 - 1/4 cup (60 g) mayonnaise
17 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
18 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
19 - 1 tablespoon pickle relish
20 - Pinch of black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and leave about 1 tablespoon drippings in the pan.
03 - Add onion to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic and ground beef, then cook until the beef is browned and no pink remains. Drain well. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
04 - Let the beef mixture cool for 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked bacon, green onions, cheddar, and mozzarella.
05 - On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 10 by 14 inch rectangle. Spread the filling over the dough, leaving a 1 inch border. Roll up from the long side and pinch the seam and ends closed.
06 - Place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Stir melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the loaf. Bake for 18-22 minutes until deep golden brown.
07 - Let the bread rest for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley if using, slice with a serrated knife, and serve with the mixed burger sauce.

# Good to know:

01 - Resting the loaf before slicing keeps the cheese and filling inside.
02 - Use cooked, drained fillings only so the dough bakes crisp.
03 - Best served warm, but leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
